His-Wei Liu received the Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from National Tsing Hua University in 2006. He is an associate professor of Department of Life Science at Fu Jen Catholic University, where initially joined in 2009. His major research focuses on innovative medical device, biomaterials drug delivery and tissue engineering with an emphasis toward clinical translation. By examining and tackling the interaction between biomaterials and biology, seeking to adopt an engineering approach to improve treatments for major diseases including cardiovascular disease, cancer, and catheter-related bloodstream infections. He has published more than 30 SCI-indexed journal articles from 2013 to 2020. Recently, his research interests include Intra-articular nanomicellar drug delivery system for osteoarthritis therapy, 3D bioprinting multicellular spheroids-laden hydrogels and tissue-on a chip as osteoarthritis microphysiological systems to evaluate cartilage regeneration.
